Limit Order-Problems

Hello,
i am using MW with IB and have some problems to enter a limit buy order above the current price.
When entering the limit price in the order field i see the order on the chart.
When raising the price it´s possible to lift the orderfield on the chart above the current price. But when submitting the order i get the error message,
that the limit order must be set below current price.
"Error Submitting Order" error message:
"Buy limit order must be below current buy price."

That is very strange and support couldn´t help me yet. Has someone the same issues?
Support meant it could come from IB but on IB there is no problem to set a limit order above current price.

Hi @Antares66, this is a very old thread, but did you manage to solve this problem? I have been scratching my head trying to figure this out. It does not make sense that you cannot submit a buy limit order at a price above the current ask (or vice versa for sell limit orders).

I have found that the same behaviour exists if using MW's inbuilt simulated account, so I do not think it is related to the IB connector. And like you, I can set the limit to any price I want directly in TWS.
