running MW on Linux mint
I have been having weird window crashing episodes where the panels crash silently while running.
Usually its the bottom windows with the P&L and the quote board and these usually magically re-appear at some point, but now it's all the tabs and all the top menu.
When I try to restart and then import the previously saved backup the 'restore from backup' menu is unavailable.
Of course a backup is written when I shut it down. I first thought the name of this zip file is stored somewhere so MW can read it on startup, but changing the name of one of the previously known good settings to the last written backup and then reloading has no effect.
This is the only window I get.
How can I access the Restore menu ?
and or How can I get it to run properly.
As a developer of 25+ years, I would have to suggest this is pretty flaky behaviour and I would be very concerned to find out what's going on. I would be happy to give any and all debug assistance if you want to investigate further. I hope you do.
