I have run 3 sessions on with tight RAM with Mint Linux. Once you boost the heap of each dedicated MW session, it should help but it also depends on your OS.

I'm having issues all the time backtesting. I'm not willing to do anything off of tick data and much custom indicators also utilize tick data anyway (bid/ask)

the odd thing is I lock up for nearly a minute at times, trying to spam the stop button to regain control of motivewave. this NEVER happens if I step through 1 bar at a time, it just dies if I have it try backtest all the data. I'm on ultimate, but I've only got 16 GB ram with a 2 year old core i7. just wish it was more performant.

@ScottyA ask the MW team for one of the previous releases, in case you don't have one in your archive, to back test the issue. I personally keep a few releases back just in case. It's rare I need them.
If you need older versions.

try this
Code:
https://downloads.motivewave.com/builds/454/motivewave6_4_0.pkg
https://downloads.motivewave.com/builds/454/motivewave_setup6.4.0.exe

https://downloads.motivewave.com/builds/456/motivewave6_4_2.pkg
https://downloads.motivewave.com/builds/456/motivewave_setup6.4.2.exe

https://downloads.motivewave.com/builds/462/motivewave6_5_0.pkg
https://downloads.motivewave.com/builds/462/motivewave_setup6.5.0.exe
