I'm not sure what the ratio of employees is with User Experience certifications in Fintech. But, it's clear the IT minded developers are running the show instead of partnering with User Experience Product Managers.

1) Something as basic as one click order placement sent to your broker from the Y axis on charts shouldn't be on by default. And at a minimum, it needs to be possible to disable the feature or generate a prompt to verify order placement. Users literally have 2 pixels to move their mouse within to drag the Y axis scale up and down, otherwise they will send orders to their broker if they click 2 pixels too far into the Y axis. Ridiculous.

2) Studies need a master list to edit, add and disable from.

3) Connection to data and broker should be able to be saved as a default so as not to log-in and authorize every time the connection is broken or motivewave crashes and needs to be rebooted.

A simple UX audit would find these travesties in 3 minutes.

Hello,

1. You can disable chart trading in Configure > Preferences > Orders > Submission, uncheck the Price Axis Trading option.

2. You can view the list of studies on a chart by going to View > Object Viewer, ALT + V is the keyboard shortcut for this.

3. Some connections allow us to save login credentials, other connections that use the built-in Java browser may not remember your details.

Regards.

For #3, TD Ameritrade's connection saves fine on Ninjatrader.
