Hey, would need some help setting up TPO..
I tried every possible combination, but the starting times (and letters) are somehow incorrect.
I need the daily open (extended) session to start 0:00 my time and NY open (rth) from 15:30. And both should start with A, so there's no weird numbers and symbols towards the end.

There's more than 1 profile per day. The split reg vs ext sessions setting doesn't change anything.

Yeah it kills me how the built in session times are wrong for almost everything. It wrong for equities, wrong for crude, and wrong for metals. The only correct session times are for bonds.

1- Right click on a chart and choose "edit instrument"
2- Click on the advanced tab, and click that '+'

3-Create your new correct hours for that instrument. It is extremely confusing and took me a long time to get it to work.

Here are my settings to equities (ES, NQ, YM)

Here are my settings for CL

Both RTH and ETH will start with a capital A.

Wow, thanks a lot! Would've never thought of that.

Now the NY session is good, but what I would need is a daily open profile (overnight session)...
So Daily open to London Open one profile
Ny open to Close second profile

How would I set that up? I tried every possible combination, in Chicago and my times, but nothing works.. it completely messed up the chart.

This is what it looks like with your settings

You need to show Extended trading hours. Right click the chart and make sure this is selected.

Also make sure your TPO study settings on these two pages are the same:

One more thing. I suggest you keep the hours in Chicago time like I posted them. You will still see things in local time at your computer. However doing this ensures your TPO stays correct during those weeks when Europe and USA are not on the same daylight saving scheme.

Ok this makes a lot of sense.. thanks!

These are the times I need, but it doesn't work.. screws up the chart. Seems like this is the wrong approach.

That's where it gets very weird and confusing. Play around with the timings to get it right. As you can see from my timings, I use a negative number for the extended hours (that's how they did it in the default settings too). I played around until I get the TPO I wanted. The classic one where Pit Opens in A and closes in M. Try my settings for extended hours.

PS> another stupid quirk with this, after changing the times a couple of times things start to get weird, and you need to clear all data to make sure that the TPO is showing the settings you chose. So clear all data every time you change the settings.
